Yahoo not working? What to try

Website won't load

Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R), then a private window. If it loads there, clear the site's cookies and cache or disable extensions.

Email not sending or arriving

Check webmail in a browser to rule out your mail app, and look in spam. Delayed mail often arrives once the outage ends.

Search not working

Try a different query or browser. If results are empty or erroring for simple searches, the search backend is likely having issues.

Rule out your own connection

  • Check whether other sites load. If nothing loads, the problem is your internet connection.
  • Restart your router or switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
  • Turn off any VPN, ad blocker or DNS filter and try again.

No. Our last check of Yahoo 6 minutes ago found it up and responding. This page updates every 5 minutes.

Why is Yahoo not working for me?

If this page shows Yahoo as up, the problem is most likely on your side: your browser, app, Wi-Fi, DNS or VPN. Try a private window, another device, or mobile data. If it fails everywhere and other people are reporting problems, it's an outage.

When was the last Yahoo outage?

How do I check Yahoo status?

This page checks Yahoo every 5 minutes from our server and shows the result, response times and outage history.

Can I get an alert when Yahoo goes down?

Yes. Add Yahoo (or your own website) as a monitor in Notifier and you'll get an email, SMS or phone call alert the moment it stops responding. The free plan covers 10 monitors. Start monitoring free.
