Domain Expiry Checker

Check your domain expiration date instantly. See exactly how many days are left until your domain expires, along with the creation date, registrar name, IP address, last updated date, and current registration status. No account needed.

Why check your domain expiration date?

Letting a domain expire can cause serious damage to your business. Here's what happens when a domain expires:

  • Your website, email, and any services tied to that domain go offline immediately.
  • You lose the ability to update DNS records or make any changes to the domain.
  • Your registrar replaces your site with a parked page, which signals to search engines that your content is gone.
  • Search engines will keep trying to crawl your site. When they find a parked page instead of your content, your rankings will drop and your indexed pages may be removed entirely.

Checking your domain expiration date regularly is one of the simplest ways to avoid an unexpected outage.

About this tool

Our free domain expiry checker tells you exactly when any domain name expires. Enter a domain and the tool performs a full domain expiration lookup via RDAP (the modern registration data protocol), falling back to a WHOIS lookup when needed, returning the expiration date, days remaining until expiry, the domain registrar, current IP address, last updated date, and registration status. It also serves as a quick DNS expiry check for any domain you want to verify. No account or signup is required.

How to look up a domain's expiration date

If you want to find out when a domain expires, the fastest way is to run a domain name expiry check using this tool. Below are the exact steps it takes under the hood when you click Check.

How it works

  1. You enter a domain name (for example, example.com) and click Check.
  2. The tool queries the official RDAP registry first, parsing the registration events to extract creation date, expiration date, and last updated date.
  3. If RDAP data is unavailable, it falls back to a WHOIS lookup so older TLDs still return useful data.
  4. The tool also resolves the domain's current A record via DNS to show you the IP address it points to right now.
  5. You get a permalink you can share or bookmark to revisit the latest check for that domain.

Want this automated?

Checking a domain manually works once. Doing it for every domain you own, every month, doesn't scale. Notifier monitors your domains for you and emails you well before they expire (30, 14, 7, and 1 day warnings) so you never lose a domain to a missed renewal. It also monitors website uptime, SSL certificate expiration, and pings/port availability, all from one dashboard. Free tier available, no credit card required.
