Firebase not working? What to try

Website won't load

Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R), then a private window. If it loads there, clear the site's cookies and cache or disable extensions.

API or dashboard errors

Look at the HTTP status code. A 5xx error is on their side, 429 means you hit a rate limit, and 401 or 403 means a credentials or permissions problem.

Rule out your own connection

  • Check whether other sites load. If nothing loads, the problem is your internet connection.
  • Restart your router or switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
  • Turn off any VPN, ad blocker or DNS filter and try again.

Firebase status FAQ

Is Firebase down right now?

No. Our last check of Firebase 4 minutes ago found it up and responding. This page updates every 5 minutes.

Why is Firebase not working for me?

If this page shows Firebase as up, the problem is most likely on your side: your browser, app, Wi-Fi, DNS or VPN. Try a private window, another device, or mobile data. If it fails everywhere and other people are reporting problems, it's an outage.

When was the last Firebase outage?

We haven't recorded a confirmed Firebase outage in the last 90 days. We count an outage when Firebase fails our checks for at least 10 minutes in a row.

How do I check Firebase status?

This page checks Firebase every 5 minutes from our server and shows the result, response times and outage history. Firebase also publishes an official status page with incident updates.

Can I get an alert when Firebase goes down?

Yes. Add Firebase (or your own website) as a monitor in Notifier and you'll get an email, SMS or phone call alert the moment it stops responding. The free plan covers 10 monitors. Start monitoring free.
