Etsy not working? What to try

Website won't load

Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R), then a private window. If it loads there, clear the site's cookies and cache or disable extensions.

App not working

Force quit the app and reopen it, then check the App Store or Google Play for an update. Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data rules out your network.

Payments failing

Don't keep retrying a failed payment. Check your card or bank app first, then wait for the service to recover so you don't get charged twice.

Search not working

Try a different query or browser. If results are empty or erroring for simple searches, the search backend is likely having issues.

Rule out your own connection

  • Check whether other sites load. If nothing loads, the problem is your internet connection.
  • Restart your router or switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
  • Turn off any VPN, ad blocker or DNS filter and try again.

Etsy status FAQ

Is Etsy down right now?

No. Our last check of Etsy 3 minutes ago found it up and responding. This page updates every 5 minutes.

Why is Etsy not working for me?

If this page shows Etsy as up, the problem is most likely on your side: your browser, app, Wi-Fi, DNS or VPN. Try a private window, another device, or mobile data. If it fails everywhere and other people are reporting problems, it's an outage.

When was the last Etsy outage?

We haven't recorded a confirmed Etsy outage in the last 90 days. We count an outage when Etsy fails our checks for at least 10 minutes in a row.

How do I check Etsy status?

This page checks Etsy every 5 minutes from our server and shows the result, response times and outage history. Etsy also publishes an official status page with incident updates.

Can I get an alert when Etsy goes down?

Yes. Add Etsy (or your own website) as a monitor in Notifier and you'll get an email, SMS or phone call alert the moment it stops responding. The free plan covers 10 monitors. Start monitoring free.
