To join a private community on Reddit, you must obviously have a private community that you want to join!
For this example, we are going to be using a subreddit that we are the moderators for. It’s called an examplesubreddit1.
If you’re not familiar with the concept of a private community on Reddit, it is a type of community where you can only join when you have been allowed to. It is not public to the rest of Reddit.
The first thing you will see when you attempt to visit a private subreddit is a screen like this, that declares that this is a private community.
You can then click on the button to request to join the community.
It will also allow you to write a short message to the moderators of a subreddit explaining why you would want to join that subreddit. From there, you can then click Send Request.
It’s possible that you may not see a button with the option to request to join the subreddit. If that is the case, this means that the moderator of that subreddit has turned off the functionality to show this button.
You can still, however, click on the button that says message mods. From there, you can fill out a subject line and input a message describing why you would like to join the subreddit. Then simply click SEND and your message will be sent off to the moderators of that subreddit.
Keep in mind that Notifier can not see content in private subreddits. So if you want to get notified of keywords in Private Subreddits, that is currently not possible.
However, you can comment if you would like to get notified of any keywords that occur across Reddit in public subreddits, then you can definitely use Notifier for that!
