Realistically, you probably are a DEI admit. UC cannot look at race but if you wrote about that stuff in essays you definitely got a boost. But… who cares? Life is unfair. You are given some opportunities you don’t deserve but you also lose out on opportunities that you did deserve. (Also “deserve” is subjective). What is important is that you know that you belong and are confident in yourself. Imposter syndrome is a killer. Think about the some of the most successful ppl in the country right ...

So lots of words and no results. >Yet we have seen spacex incrementally figure out the starship in real time. The hardest part is likely developing the rockets which it seems like they almost have down. The rocket itself is not even close to the hardest part, we figured that out 65 years ago with computers that took up the size of rooms and have less power than an iPhone 1. And again, rockets going to the moon and going to LEO are a whole different thing. It's not like on ear...

Was he really as much of a "hardcore gamer" as some people seem to think? People seem to think he wasted all his time on gaming, but I feel like he mostly just mindlessly scrolled the web and jerked off to porn lol, while only gaming casually sometimes - simply because that's just how most degenerates like him spend their time, and getting good at gaming actually takes focus and discipline, which are things he seems to lack. Did you ever actually play games with him, and if you did, was he skill...

Let’s be honest here. SpaceX is winning because they are good at what they do and the European competition is losing because they are not as good at what they do. A few mergers will not change this. This project seems aimed at catching up to where SpaceX is today, but SpaceX is working towards their long term goal with Starship to Mars and satellite to cellphone communication. Give this 5 more years and SpaceX will be closer t...

LOL, they aren't even 2 years behind schedule, at best they are 1 year behind the most optimistic possible schedule. The Artemis schedule was written by presidential advisors seeking to bring glory to their boss, it never had anything to do with reality which is why every single component of Artemis, not just HLS, is "behind schedule". Starship is breaking records for how quickly its being developed. SLS reused existing Shuttle engines and SRBs, is a very simple expendable rocket design, and t...

Are these “Toxic Environment” complainers just a bunch of trolls trying to stir up discontent among the BO employees as a way to slow down their progress against SpaceX or even China. Is see this all the time on this subreddit. I’m rooting for Blue Origin to help get us to the moon as soon as possible and then stay their for more than the 50plus we’ve been away.

Dude has created the perfect feedback loop (and a cult) to build his enormous wealth. 1) Pump TSLA through fake / exaggerated claims on FSD, new models, Robotaxis etc 2) When TSLA rises, leverage or sell the stock to fund new ventures (xAI, SpaceX) 3) Buy himself the alternate media platform to continue with pumping 4) Create a God like persona so ordinary folks stop questioning the lies 5) Repeat

128 days later? It’s doing better, but it’s not gonna launch again until 2026, with a new design which could suffer from problems just like Block 2 - keep in mind this thing is supposed to be putting people on the Moon in two years and it just passed a 50% success rate… Im not trying to be a hater but Starship just isn’t there yet. In 2027, 2028? Yes it probably will be, but not yet. That’s why there’s talk of SpaceX getting booted of Artemis III in favor of Blue Origin

Devil's advocate: SpaceX is only now starting to focus on removing weight from Starship and Superheavy, finally, with v3. Up until now they've mainly been adding weight. For example, they can more finely tune the operational weight by using different techniques for tank wall structural reinforcement beyond just "weld in a lot of stringers". Though they might not even want or need to do that, who knows. There is room for improvement in a lot of places, and SpaceX</stro...

Huge private data network in space launching soon. 600 satellites. Think Space X but designed for super fast, secure data transfer. Focus, now. The GOP says it's about fraud, if you believe that and your concern is fraud, why are we not focusing on that? Why don't you see successful politicians rallying against Boeing or Space X, instead of single mothers and retirees? Could it be because the corps pay the bills and the retirees vote against their own interests out of ignorance?

What is Google funding that only they can do? Google is profiting over 100B a year, if they were benevolent they would put all that back into research. SpaceX founder uses his money to fund alt-right politicians in Europe and just dropped a shitload of people out of their jobs with DOGE for literally no gain. Benevolent private monopoly is an oxymoron. It is better for the public sector to handle some things.

I chose that time (and I did get the time wrong, I did mean the first hopper flight, not the second) because it's not easy to give a really good, actually useful estimate for when starship development started. You could count the announcement of its as the "beginning of development, so about 9 years, but realistically it's such a different design now that saying that's the beginning of development of what is now starship seems unrealistic. Back then it was 12 meters in diameter, made of carbon f...

Unless they are a benevolent monopoly like Google or SpaceX. They fund the stuff that helps mankind, that only they can do. Much like Bell Labs and NASA had technological breakthroughs that only an impossibly wealthy institution could achieve. One private, one public. Of course, the public one was grossly wasteful and more subject to the whims of Capitol Hill.
