There is no special value in having unsupervised vs supervised. FSD v14.1.4 First & Quick Impressions
Hello! First time writing but I have been reading the page for a while.
I recently updated to FSD V14.1.4 coming from V13.2.9. I’ve got to say overall I’m pretty pleased. I’ve only done 2 drives of roughly ~20 miles, but it was in the dark and raining. Here’s my first impression based on only 20 miles.
**The good**
1. I’m overall pleased with the speeds this version maintains. There have been many complaints about past FSD versions going too slow or below the speed limit. V14 is WAY better....
Lose him like last year! I want to buy an EV but won't buy a <strong>tesla</strong> till he's gone. Deported would be nice since the current administration is all for that!
Ideally your estate sells it when you die. The cost basis is stepped up to the value at your death so no taxes due. Proceeds go to pay your loan. Elon does this with his <strong>Tesla</strong> stock.
Personally I think they need to remove the automatic step up. But since that would hurt billionaires and multi millionaires it won’t happen.
Waymo is already doing autonomous freeway rides, they are just employee only for now.

It’s not a lot but <strong>Tesla</strong> has better efficiency at highway speeds than a Bolt. It’s hard to achieve over 4.0 miles a kWh in a Bolt at reasonable highway speeds than a Model 3 which can easily do 4.5 at 75mph. Drop the speed to around 70 you could eke out 4.8-5.0 that’s very tough for a Bolt to match unless you’re driving considerably slower.
Vastly different approaches. <strong>Tesla</strong> clearly has far better capabilities if Waymo can’t even drive on the freeway, but <strong>Tesla</strong> is waiting until they’re sure they can deliver it without a poor experience (like I had today). That requires a lot of little nuanced things. What I witnessed today was not impressive. Taken probably ten Ubers the past couple months. Always uneventful. Try Waymo once and it’s a disaster.
