>We already pay for every expansion on WoW too plus we pay our ISP before the membership. While I agree its stupid on console its equally stupid on WoW. When we pay for WoW we are paying **for a service**. That service is access to WoW's servers. Servers that Blizzard maintains and develops. That is a service. We are paying for something. Are we overpaying for it at $15/month? probably, but it is still a service none-the-less. When you pay a subscription to Microsoft for X-Bo...

The console market is still doing well - stability, not stagnation -, except for Xbox, which has seen a 30% annual decline since 2023; some of these Xbox fans seem to be switching to PC, since Microsoft is pushing them in that direction. And the next Xbox-to-PC transition involves hardware that will cost around $1300-1500... with many of the drawbacks of PC gaming: less optimized games, no plug and play, successive updates for Windows and for each store. Also, hackers and cheat...

yea Microsoft just promised it'll fight in court, which isn't really a guarantee of anything, google and AWS at least has actual airgapped systems. but there are valid alternatives to Microsoft office suite already, maybe the EU will invest in libre office more

See I am willing to give them a benefit of the doubt. If you have actually played halo CE you would know the silent cartographer is like one of the first few levels. So it being a laggy mess is not a big thing cause it just seems like the game is in the development phase. Not sure how anyone is being treated unfair here. If Microsoft was cutting mcc out completely and asking for players to shift to the remake then sure it’s unfair but you speaking as if Xbox is forcing folks t...

This logic 100% falls apart the moment we see games like fifa, cod and Pokémon you are telling me that these games are made with goty in mind? Or getting awards?! Most of the highest revenue games and movies are usually not award worthy but who cares as long as it prints money. Their most important game is dark souls it’s the game that started the popularity yet it did not win any awards at the time and it inspired an entire genre, this pretty much solidifies the fact that got awards don’t rea...

Headline is a lie. She did NOT say they had to use AWS. She said there's "no realistic alternative to AWS and the other hyperscalers", referring to Google and Microsoft. And of course we all know that by "no realistic alternative " she just means it would cost a lot more to do it themselves, or if they did it cheaper it wouldn't be as robust. I'm not convinced we need to care all that much about a 12-hour outage. It happens with power, water, and other utilities. Let AWS p...

Hey everyone, I don’t normally post things like this, but life’s thrown me a bit of a curve lately, and I’m doing my best to keep moving forward. As others have said you seem to be confused. nuget packages are library files intended for development and do nothing on their own. They cannot be "installed" on their own as they require a development environment to function. If your goal is to have the PCs respond to SNMP protocol, this is a windows feature which can be enabled. You may need to create Windows install media for the PCs so that Windows has a source for the files it needs to instal the feature. I think some features need this, ...

It's sad to see this happen to apple. I feel like iOS' quality has gotten worse and worse. It also seems to be getting that shitty Microsoft "vibe" - just look at how much wasted space there is in the settings app, where the top of most of the pages has an enormous, pointless icon and blurb which requires you to scroll down before seeing the actual settings Such a shame Jobs isn't here any more. What is considered the current generation of computer games in the next decade or so, is likely destined to be discarded into the trash bin, because of the tight coupling of the game with kernel-level anti-cheat. I am able to enjoy retro games from previous generations, because retro games do not depend on some external source that you cannot replicate.
