The Three Approaches
Ross Fledderjohn, co-founder and CEO of Stammer, used Notifier in these three ways:
1. Listen to keywords your potential customers might mention
The team searched for keywords their potential customers might use, with search strings like:
- “sell AI agents”
- “white label AI”
- “sell AI chatbots”
This helped them find relevant discussions on Reddit where they could jump in and recommend their product or DM users directly.
2. Listen for mentions of your competitors
They monitored mentions of competitors like Closebot, Zappychat, BotPenguin, and Botpress. When these competitors came up in conversations, the team could:
- Jump in and recommend themselves
- Understand what their competitors were doing
- Spot product opportunities (like when users mentioned “Closebot is great, but it doesn’t have support for the meta suite of products like WhatsApp”)
3. Listen for mentions of your own brand name
As Stammer.ai started gaining traction and appearing in social media conversations, they added brand monitoring to their strategy. Using the search string “Stammer.ai” OR “Stammer AI”, they tracked how people were talking about their platform. They’re now one of our beta testers for the AI Verification Feature, which intelligently distinguishes between mentions of “stammer” (the voice condition) and references to their platform.
