Our ability to allow you to filter by location depends on the platform you are Searching on:
Reddit #
Reddit doesn’t really have a concept of location at least not that they expose to the user. For filtering by location with Reddit we recommend using text to do so, for example:
Search for:
"looking for a dog" AND australia
Twitter #
Twitter does support location and we support it through using what we call advanced search of parameters. We are working on getting this added to our user Interface ASAP.
Basically you need to tell us your geocode you want to filter by:
- First go to https://www.latlong.net/ and enter the location you would like to find Tweets within. For this example I am going to go with Austin, where I am:
- Then choose the number of miles (or km) you want to find tweets from this location. For example, I want to find tweets within 15 miles of the Austin.
- Enter into the Advanced Parameters Field something like this:
{
"twitter_geocode": "30.267153,-97.743057,10mi"
}
