The E. coli cases were certainly real, but they appeared relatively isolated, in a way that seems less indicative of "sourcing" issues, and more so of poor hygiene at specific facilities. Which is potentially more disgusting if you know how the bacteria spreads... and definitely not out if the realm of possibility... The real answer likely lies somewhere in the middle. There were some highly publicized cases of E. coli breakouts originating from contamination at Chipotle locations, and GMO interests amplified the sensationalism to achieve their own goals

I worked for Chipotle, and our GM (the one who supposedly worked her way from the bottom!) Called me in on my day off because the plancha wasn't heating up. I asked if she went through the steps one by one. "OF COURSE I DID! YOU CLOSED LAST NIGHT, SO THIS IS YOUR FAULT! COME IN ASAP!" She never turned the gas valve on, so it was just clicking waiting for the gas to ignite. I turned on the gas, grabbed the handbook and circled the step by step of opening and closing grill. Last step at night? Turn off gas valve. First step in the morning? Make sure gas is turned on. She had to lay me for two hours of overtime for 2 seconds of work.

Fast Food Travel Recs

Hello, relatively new to the community as I just got recently diagnosed and have been reading through this group for a lot of info and support! I just got my first dose of remicade and I’m getting my 2nd dose next Saturday (although switching to inflectra) and I’m definitely feeling better but still having some diarrhea/blood/cramping. The point of this post is to ask for fast food recommendations or easily packed snacks and prepared meals for a long trip. I’ll be driving across the country towards the end of the month for about 3-4 days so I can’t rely on homecooking. I know diet is a touchy topic here and differs for everyone but I feel like my options will be pretty limited to fast food, especially when I’m driving through smaller towns and the Midwest. Hoping I’ll be feeling better in the next few weeks, but regardless I don’t think eating a lot of fast food for 3 days will be too great for me. I’ve been sticking to low fiber but have started to expand my options slightly as I feel better. In terms of fast food, I’ve found I can handle Chick Fil A options such as chicken noodle soup and grilled nuggets fairly well and have also heard that getting rice and chicken at Chipotle could work well. Most of the stuff I make at home requires reheating (chicken, rice, eggs, toast, bagels) so I’m pretty stumped on what to do for a lot of my meals. Not sure if anyone has been in a similar situation, but any advice or tips are appreciated!!
