OneUp Social Media Scheduling Tool Review

OneUp is a social media scheduling tool i.e. it can help you automate your social media posts for a brief period. You don’t need to log in to your various social media accounts every day or every time you want to post content. Just schedule everything using this one app and it will post your content as per the settings you will choose

Now, as we said, it only helps you schedule your content but it doesn’t track its effectiveness.

It won’t tell you how many people viewed your posts, how many of them liked it, shared it, or reacted to it. It won’t alert you when people reply to your posts. It won’t alert you when someone mentions something about your brand, whether they tag you or not. It won’t help you understand what your buyers expect from you, what kind of content generates maximum ROI, etc.

If you need a thorough analysis of your social media content’s reach, you have to buy a social media tracking/listening tool separately.

Need recommendations?

Obviously, we will recommend Notifier.

Well, we aren’t promoting Notifier just because it’s our tool. We have tried OneUp for social media scheduling and Notifier for social media listening for one of our other businesses and it works great! The combination of these tools can give you as good results as you can expect from some of the expensive, feature-rich options like the ones listed here. Through OneUp, you will be able to schedule your posts for days and weeks and through Notifier, you will be able to track your audience’s response to these posts. Notifier will also help you track down your brand mentions as well as the mentions of the keywords related to your industry. It will help you track your competitor’s social media activities. That’s exactly what the enterprise-level $1000 tools do!

Together, OneUp and Notifier can fulfil almost all your social media scheduling, monitoring, and listening needs without having you shell out hundreds of dollars every month.

This blog is about OneUp review. As we said above, we have been using it for some time and, so far, we are pretty satisfied with it.

If you too want to try it, here is what you need to know.

Noteworthy features of OneUp Social Media Scheduling tool

  • Compatible social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, and Google My Business page
  • Can be used for personal Facebook and Twitter profiles as well. Even expensive social media tools such as Hootsuite and buffer do not let you use personal profiles
  • Can be used for Google My Business page, which is again quite unexpected from such as low-cost social media publishing tool
  • Has an auto-post feature that can post from your RSS feeds
  • Lets you schedule Twitter threads
  • Has chrome extension for quick sharing
  • Has Canva integration so you can quickly create, edit, and share images right from Canva’s dashboard instead of saving it to your device and then sharing it.
  • Has repetitive auto-post feature that lets you post a specific piece of content repetitively after a scheduled interval; say every Wednesday, every 5th day of the month
  • Has bulk upload feature
  • Isn’t compatible with mobile phones
  • Doesn’t offer API integration

Ease of use

Our experience with OneUp social media scheduling app has been pretty OK, except that we faced a few glitches.

It has a simple dashboard, so even novice people can use it but you may initially have to do a bit of brainstorming. Watch this video to see how it works:

If you are a freelancer with multiple clients, you can create a new category for each of them and then connect each category to its respective social media pages. You can schedule the social media content for each category independently. This will help minimize the chances of errors. Unquestionably, OneUp is an excellent tool for small-time freelancers and businesses that are just getting started with their social media presence.

We especially love the ‘repeat post’ feature. If you are running a monthly or weekly campaign/offer, you can use this feature to get your content posted after a scheduled interval, eliminating the chances of errors and misses.

Don’t forget to check out their bulk upload feature that lets you upload and schedule a large number of posts via a CSV file from your computer, Google Drive, or from DropBox. If you have to make any changes to them, you can do it on OneUp’s dashboard instead of repeatedly uploading updated files. One of the buyers scheduled 500 posts and went on a vacation. She was surprised to see that all of them were posted correctly with zero issues. Lucky girl! See the image below:

Another interesting feature that we love is their Chrome Extension. It lets you quickly share a picture or an article/blog without having you go through the process of logging into the website and filling up the fields. The extension gives occasional glitches though but works in the majority of cases.

The customer support team is prompt and supportive. Not just us, but numerous buyers have stated that they have got an almost immediate response to their queries.

Price

OneUp has 5 different plans, which could leave you confused.

Don’t worry, the last two of them are for large businesses and enterprises. They aren’t really worth their price. They cost about $799 when billed annually, which is too much for just publishing the content on social media. If you have that high budget, you can go with better enterprise-level tools that offer publishing, monitoring, as well as social media listening.

The other three plans are decently priced and offer enough options for small and even medium-scale businesses, freelancers, social media agencies, etc. Their price gets significantly lower when you choose the annual package.

What you should know before buying OneUp

OneUp does give occasional glitches. For example; if you choose an image that is too small or too big for the platform where it needs to be posted, it doesn’t alert you. The content won’t get posted at its scheduled time and you will be left guessing why it didn’t work.

A few of the features aren’t clearly explained on their website as well as on their pricing plans. For example; they haven’t mentioned how to use the Chrome extension or how many posts you can upload at a time. But, the 7-day free trial will give you an idea of how well this social media scheduling tool works. Considering its low price, these occasional glitches could be ignored.

Before you opt for any of the plans, please keep in mind that it is purely a social media scheduling tool. It doesn’t offer any social media management, monitoring, or handling services. For example; if someone leaves a comment on your post, it won’t alert you. Plus, it won’t let you reply from its dashboard. You will have to manually keep a track of them (or use our tool Notifier) and deal with them directly from the social media’s platform.

Some buyers assumed that OneUp will provide them with some kind of analytics or maybe help them figure out the reach of their social media posts. But, it doesn’t. It is a very basic scheduling app with no bells and whistles features that the expensive all-in-one social media monitoring apps offer. And that’s why it has managed to keep its prices substantially cheaper. OneUp is meant for small businesses and freelancers who wouldn’t even require those services. Our Rating: 4/5

Currently, we are enjoying it and haven’t yet felt the need to upgrade to other social media monitoring and listening tools because we are using it along with Notifier.
