Does Notifier search through all of Reddit's history?
No, Notifier is designed for real-time monitoring, not historical searches. When you set up a searcher with your keywords, it begins monitoring for new mentions going forward from that point.
Think of it like setting up a Google Alert - you're not searching through everything that's ever been posted, but rather creating a system that will notify you whenever your keywords are mentioned in new posts, comments, or discussions.
This real-time approach is perfect for lead generation, brand monitoring, and staying on top of conversations as they happen, rather than trying to find old discussions.
Note: We do offer a 30-day search history option that you can enable when creating a searcher, which allows you to search through the past 30 days of content in addition to real-time monitoring.

How is this different from just searching Reddit manually?

How does AI verification work?
AI verification costs 1 AI credit per verification. You can easily purchase additional AI credits in your dashboard if needed, though most users find the included amount perfect for their needs.
When a match occurs through our traditional filter matching, AI verification provides an additional verification step. You describe exactly what you're looking for in a prompt, and the AI reviews the match to confirm it's exactly what you want. It's a very powerful feature that many of our customers use.
Can I target specific geographic locations in my monitoring?
Location targeting varies by platform.
On Reddit, you can monitor location-specific subreddits (like r/NewYork or r/LosAngeles).
For X (Twitter), location data is available through their paid API - contact us for guidance on setting this up.
Other platforms we monitor (news sites, blogs, YouTube, Hacker News) don't currently support location-based filtering. Feel free to reach out for platform-specific capabilities and limitations.
How does the credit system work?
Notifier uses two types of credits: match credits and AI verification credits.
When you run a searcher without AI verification enabled, you're charged 1 match credit per result found.
When you enable AI verification, you're charged 1 AI verification credit every time a match is sent to the AI for review. If the AI determines the match is valid, you're also charged 1 match credit, so valid matches cost 2 credits total.
We charge for AI verifications even if they fail because we incur costs every time we send data to the AI. The good news is you can view all failed AI verifications in your archived results dashboard to see what was filtered out.

Does Notifier run 24/7 or do I need to keep my computer on?
Notifier runs completely in the cloud 24/7, so you never need to keep your laptop or computer on. Once you set up your searchers, they'll continue monitoring and sending you matches automatically, even when you're asleep or away from your computer. Just set it up once and let it run!
Do I need to connect my social media accounts? Is it safe?
Most platforms don't require you to connect any accounts. Reddit, YouTube, Hacker News, and News sites are all monitored publicly without requiring authentication.
Instagram and X/Twitter do require you to connect your accounts to run searches on those platforms. However, there's zero risk here. We use their official, approved APIs and are fully compliant with their terms of service. We don't use any browser scraping or methods that could put your accounts at risk of being banned.
